Hello Parents!
We’re so excited to start singing together tomorrow night. There are a few things you’ll need to know before we get started so I appreciate you taking the time to read all the information below. The great news is that all of this information and more can be found on our parent page. Be sure to bookmark the page so you can stay up to date with what is happening in Children’s Chorus. I know this email is going to some families that will not be participating in choir, so after today I’ll only continue to email those who are registered for children’s chorus. We welcome anyone to join us at any time, just reach out whenever the time is right for your family.
Outdoor Rehearsal:
For the first few weeks of choir (as long as the weather is good) we will be rehearsing on the 4th floor roof deck. This will allow us to remove our masks while we sing and will help me to teach the kids singing technique while they can see my mouth. ? The temperature is supposed to be around 71 degrees and may be even a bit cooler by the lake. Please make sure your child has appropriate layers for the outdoor rehearsal.
Check In and Check Out:
Children’s Chorus opens at 5:15pm. Please do not leave your child before that time as we will not be ready to receive them. To check in your child, please stop on the second floor of the church (in the kids ministry area) and check in using the self-serve kiosks. After you’ve checked in and printed your name badge(s), please take the elevator or stairs up to the 4th floor. We will confirm check in of your child and then they will be with us for the remainder of the rehearsal. Children who are going to AWANA will be either dismissed (3rd-5th) or escorted (1st-2nd) to their classes from Children’s chorus. If your child(ren) are not attending AWANA please be on the 4th floor at 6:30 with your pickup tag printed with the name tags to pick up your child(ren).

I’ll be highlighting some of this information in various communications, but please take some time in the next week or two to look it over as well. COVID Information:
During the time of the COVID 19 health crisis the Children’s Chorus will follow the directions and guidelines of The Moody Church Elders for the best safety practices. In the fall of 2021, the chorus will wear masks indoors but may remove them when in an outdoor location. We will do our best to maintain distancing recommendations while singing and engaging in musical activities.
If you discover your child is positive for COVID 19 and attended a children’s chorus activity during their contagious period (two days prior to symptoms or positive test result if asymptomatic), please contact the chorus director immediately. We will then notify parents via email of any known cases of close contact with an individual who tested positive. We define close contact as within six feet of the positive person for 15 minutes or longer during a single day- this is with or without a mask. We will also notify via email any choir members present onsite during the contagious period of a positive individual. Those identified as close contacts will be advised to quarantine at home even if they do not have symptoms.
