Dear Moody Church Family Member,
“Jesus called them together and said, ‘You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’” (Matthew 20:25-28)
As we each take the next steps along the Journey of a Lifetime, our church focus this year is to “Grow in Love through Service.” Jesus tells us that the only way to be great in the Kingdom of Heaven is to serve – just as our King came to serve us! We are most fulfilled in Jesus when we serve others. Our church wouldn’t be able to function without the army of volunteers that serve every Sunday morning and throughout the week. Through our collective service we can bring hope, joy, and love to those who need it most. Thank you for using your time and talent to be the hands and feet of Jesus!

In addition to these opportunities, each Community has a number of ways to serve both inside and outside the church. Let me challenge each of you to take your next step into service this month. You won’t regret it!
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). I believe that as we press on in service, we will see even greater impact and transformation in our church and our community.
