Dear Moody Church Family,
“Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:2
Christmas has become associated with high levels of stress and busyness including parties, shopping for gifts, and preparing meals. None of these are bad things, but they can crowd out our ability to worship Jesus.
The wise men were singularly focused on worshipping Jesus. Given the length of their travel and the value of their gifts, I think we can conclude they used their time, talent, and treasure very wisely! They recognized Jesus was singularly worthy of this investment.
At The Moody Church, we exist to worship Jesus and to invite others into that worship here in Chicago and around the world. We host many special events and services during December that are designed to welcome family and friends who may not worship Jesus. Who are you planning to invite? Check out the website for our holiday schedule: www.moodychurch.org/advent.
Our ministry is possible because of your faithful and generous worship through giving. Thank you for joining what the Lord is doing in Chicago and around the world through the ministry of The Moody Church! May we continue to worship our King faithfully with our time, talent, and treasure.
Lastly, if your worship includes making year-end gifts to ministries that glorify Jesus, would you prayerfully consider a gift to The Moody Church? The following information can help ensure that any gift (either to the general fund or a designated fund) qualifies as a 2023 tax-deductible donation with the IRS:
By Mail: must be postmarked by December 31
Online: must be made before midnight on December 31
In Person: must be dropped off at the church office by 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 31
Merry Christmas!
