This Sunday, we begin a new chapter in our study through the Gospel of Luke: “The Gathering Storm.” As Jesus is increasingly bold in His authoritative claims and His ministry impact grows to the point where it cannot be denied, the religious leaders decide they must forcefully shut Jesus down.
You can feel the shift. The tone of the narrative is becoming more ominous.
The secret threats are building.
The opposition is rising.
A tempest is brewing.
Yet, this is all according to plan. Jesus’ destiny includes the cross. Jerusalem is His aim. Suffering is a part of His calling. Jesus intends to meet this torrent head-on.
Let’s join Jesus as He bravely faces the gathering storm, for we are loved, more than we know.
