A few years ago, a lady here at The Moody Church was praying about her granddaughter who had grown up in church, but wandered from the Lord in her teenage and young adult years. Her grandmother was burdened for her and decided to take a risk. She invited her to come with her to church on Easter Sunday. To her surprise, her granddaughter came. She gave her life to Christ that day. She was baptized a few months later. Now they worship together every Sunday, grandmother and granddaughter, sisters in the Lord.
We love celebrating the joy of changed lives. It’s what only Jesus can do. And it’s what we’re all about.
Statistically, the best times to invite friends and family to church is at Easter and Christmas. Many people will actually come, if we’ll just ask. Would you begin today to pray about who you’ll invite to Easter? It’s just three weeks away. Would you think of three people from where you live, work, learn, and play who are far from Jesus but near to you. What would it take to build a bridge and make the ask in the coming days? Begin praying. Reach out. Make the ask. You never know what might happen. Jesus is alive and changing lives in 2025. Your invitation might just be the beginning of someone’s journey of a lifetime.
