Dear Moody Church Family, October 2024
But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your servant…even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (Matthew 20:26–28).
Jesus teaches that those who aspire to greatness must become servants. We have all been given time, talent, and treasure to steward for God’s kingdom. While we often think of stewardship as a financial responsibility, Jesus also calls us to use our time and talent to impact the lives of others.
When I first started attending The Moody Church over 25 years ago, I had a tough time finding community and growing in love—until I started serving! One of my favorite things about The Moody Church is that we serve with people from all walks of life—young, old, locals, immigrants, long-time residents, and those just passing through. But we are all united in Jesus!
So as you explore your next steps along The Journey of a Lifetime, we encourage you to join us as we grow in love through service together.
Visit www.moodychurch.org/serve to explore the many serving opportunities at our church that will bless others and satisfy your soul. You can also find ways to serve in your TMC Community.
Finally, we want to say “Thank You” for your faithful giving to The Moody Church. We pray the Lord will move in the hearts of His people to supply all that is needed for the work He has called us to in this time. Thank you for joining us in praying, giving, and serving!
Together,
Bill Van Tuinen
Pastor of Global Outreach & Stewardship
