This week we’re celebrating the life of Krista’s Grandma, Florence Trula Friend (1937–2023), who is home at last in the arms of her Jesus.

I’ll never forget Grandma’s love for the Gospel and her church. Every time we visited her in Soap Lake, Washington, she was busy with some cooking, crafts, or decorations to help her church with their latest outreach event. She loved to see the Good News of Jesus change lives, especially children.

I’ll never forget the twinkle in her eyes when she smiled and broke out in her goofy laugh. She loved her family, playing games, and times shared together. She delighted in making space for joy.

And I’ll never forget how every time I saw her she reminded me that she was praying for us. That meant the world to Krista and I as we engaged in our ministries. To know that her faithful prayers were offered constantly on our behalf was precious beyond words.

I’m grateful for Grandma’s legacy. She is deeply missed. And now she knows she is loved, more than she ever knew!
