Our Thanksgiving Offering is an amazing way to make Kingdom impact each year. This year’s offering will go toward planting churches in Cuba and Turkey, as well as providing a compassionate response to the migrant crisis here in Chicago. Please pray about what the Lord would have you give!
I want to encourage you with an update about how God used last year‘s Thanksgiving Offering. One of our initiatives was to help build an afterschool program for kids in southern Brazil through our long-term missionary partners, Lee and Regina Bloch. Pastor Bill Van Tuinen and I paid them a visit last week and saw the afterschool kids program in person. One hundred and twenty kids are now enrolled between the morning and afternoon programs (soon to be 180!), many from some of the most abused and poverty stricken families in the region. These kids are receiving help with their schooling, nourishing meals, biblical instruction, and healing love. The program is so effective, the government recently gave them use of another building and an expanded contract to serve nearly 500 students in total next year while providing nearly all of the funding for it! Our God is on the move!
So let’s give with generous hearts. The Thanksgiving Offering is the fruit of our gratitude, and the seed of Gospel multiplication!
