One of our goals in The Journey of a Lifetime series we just finished was to help people get connected into Community life here at The Moody Church. By the grace of God, I’m pleased to report that on a year-over-year basis, there are 371 additional people gathering throughout our Communities this fall! Many people have discovered our Communities for the first time. And many the pandemic displaced have regathered.
If you are one of the people who stepped out courageously and joined a Community for the very first time, I want you to know how proud I am of you. Following Jesus is an adventure, and you are well on your way. Way to start something new!
And for those of you who have come back to a Community after a season of being away, welcome home! We’re so glad to see your smiling faces and gather around God’s Word in friendship with you. That’s the thing about God’s family… we’re family. Always.
I want to thank our Community leaders for welcoming new friends and reaching out in love. I want to thank our staff and pastors for their hard work behind the scenes. And I want to thank each one of you for going on this journey together. God is doing a good work here at The Moody Church. Let’s keep following him!
Today we begin a new series in the Book of Jonah titled, Relentless. We’ll discover anew God’s unrelenting grace for undeserving people. And I pray we will answer God’s call to pursue our enemies in love and share God’s heart of compassion for the city. Let’s dig in!
