TMC Kids is the children’s ministry of The Moody Church. Our mission is to partner with parents and caregivers to raise children who know, love, and serve Jesus. It’s our goal to introduce children, from birth through 5th grade, to the life-changing message of the gospel, providing opportunities to grow, connect, and reach out to others.

TMC Kids includes Sunday morning programming, AWANA and Children’s Chorus on Wednesday evenings, and special events throughout the year. We know that biblical education, safety, and relationships are crucial to making your child’s visit to TMC Kids memorable and possibly life-changing. When he or she attends TMC Kids, they’ll be engaged with age-appropriate and Christ-centered curriculum and worship, and we hope they’ll leave feeling known and loved. We also hope this is a place where you can meet other families and experience the love of God through Jesus Christ.

If you have any questions, or are interested in volunteering, please use the Connect with Us form at the bottom of the page to connect with us. If you’d like more info about serving in TMC Kids, click here.

We’re excited to serve your family and look forward to meeting you!

Sunday Mornings

Join us as we explore the Bible through active, age-appropriate teaching, worship, crafts and games.

Sunday Morning Programming

Our Sunday programming works in partnership with parents and caregivers to help children grow in their faith as followers of Christ. We explore the Bible through active, age-appropriate teaching, worship, crafts and games.

Early childhood classes begin at 10:00am, and children may be dropped off 15 minutes early. Kindergarten through 2nd grade begins at 10:30am, and 3rd – 5th grade begins at 11:30am.

Wednesday Awana

These fun evenings are filled with studying the Bible, playing exciting games, building friendships and memorizing Bible verses.

Wednesday Evening Awana

Awana is a Bible-centered youth club for kids age 2 through 5th grade. It’s a fun approach to making the Bible alive and relevant, with caring leaders who invest time, love, and wisdom into children’s lives. While kids have fun each Wednesday night, they’re learning about Jesus and growing in their faith in Him, too.

Our Awana programming starts at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings, and runs until 8:00pm. The 2024/25 Awana year begins on September 4th. 2024/25 Calendar

We only use the information to get to know your family better. We are able to identify allergies, special needs & birthdays, send you updated ministry information and keep our records accurate. It is never shared with outside individuals or organizations.

We ask that children who have a fever or show symptoms of any contagious disease within the last 24 hours not be brought to TMC Kids. For further information, please see our Parent Handbook.

In the event that our staff needs to reach you, your family pager number will appear on the visual paging display located in the front of the sanctuary and throughout the building. If you are volunteering in another classroom or ministry, please let your child’s teachers know so we can contact you there.

We seek to provide safe and suitable snacks for children excluding any peanut products. If your child has allergies or dietary restrictions, please be sure to notify the classroom leader and record it on your child’s registration form for our reference.

The TMC Kids Team has been trained to respond to most emergency situations. Medical professionals are also usually on call each Sunday. If an evacuation is necessary, your child will be escorted calmly and safely by our team out the nearest exit and assemble in the park just north of the Chicago History Museum. Parents, please pick up your child at that location.

As established by our Child Protection Policy, screening for volunteers requires church membership or active involvement for one year and a pastoral reference, a comprehensive application, background check and additional references. Also, each team member is personally interviewed by members of our Executive Committee and Children’s Ministries staff.

Our Special Needs families are very important to us and we want to serve you as best as we can. We are currently able to offer a “139 Buddy” program for children who are able to participate in our regular ministries with a little assistance. Click here to learn more about 139 in TMC Kids. Please contact us for more information.
